				Misty Kirbaugh

Like all of our staff, she strives for exceptional service for our clients. Misty graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Before joining Chaffin Luhana, Misty worked for a national mortgage company in the mortgage and title industry where she gained valuable experience in effectively supporting a team and clients.

Misty grew up in the Ohio Valley and prior to relocating back here recently, she lived in North Carolina, where she volunteered with exotic animals at a North Carolina rescue shelter, where she was a tour guide, project coordinator, and helped socialize large animals such as lions and tigers that lived in deplorable conditions before being rescued by the shelter Misty now volunteers at local animal shelters in the Ohio Valley, where she works with smaller and more cuddly animals. She lives with her husband James and their charming dogs, Shady and Cookie.

Misty’s 2014, 2015, and 2017 Chaffin Luhana Foundation Charity donation was to Suzie’s Pride, Big Cat Sanctuary. Misty said a lot of big cats continue to be used for photos, then sold for gaming or hunting preserves, and then killed. She knows the cats at Suzie’s Pride are taken care of and allowed to roam free. Misty said she has personally seen the good work Suzie’s Pride does on a daily basis and she knows the funds will go to help neglected or threatened cats. She wanted her donations to continue to help with projects, repairs and start new fundraisers to educate people about conservation.

how not to be a lawyer

according to eric t. chaffin

“My father was a union witness at an arbitration in a steel mill. After the hearing, my father, dressed in blue jeans and a sweatshirt, stuck out his hand to shake hands with the company’s lawyer. The lawyer refused. The lawyer was not upset because my dad got the best of him but because he frowned upon working class people. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college. My dad used this story to remind me to respect others, to remember where I came from and as an example of how not to conduct myself as a lawyer.”
